Scarlett Johansson found turning 40 to be a "liberating" experience. Login or signup to continue reading The Hollywood star, who celebrated her 40th birthday on Friday, says she's looking forward to the next chapter of her life with a renewed sense of optimism. Asked how she feels about turning 40 on LIVE with Kelly and Mark, Johansson replied: "Well, it's only been three days, but so far, it's great." The actress subsequently suggested that she feels freed after reaching the landmark birthday. She said: "You also don't care what anybody thinks, which is so liberating. It's so liberating!" Johansson also revealed her husband Colin Jost threw a surprise bash for her 40th. The star, who has been married to Jost since 2020, shared: "He threw me a humungous bash this year. It was a surprise. And I had all the martinis for everyone and I can't wait to see the photos so I can remember the night." Scarlett's "friends and colleagues came from all over the place" to attend the party. She added: "It was magical. And he put it all together!" Earlier this year, Johansson suggested that she doesn't worry about ageing and is now happy to embrace a natural look. The Black Widow star said on Good Morning America: "What I used to see in the past as perceived flaws, I now hold a lot more acceptance." Johansson admitted that she feels "proud" of her natural appearance. Johansson, who has a three-year-old son called Cosmo with Jost, said: "I go out of the house and I don't even wear make-up sometimes - I am presenting myself in a proud way and everything it has taken to get here." Fresh daily!BOSTON (AP) — Two men, including a dual Iranian American citizen, have been arrested on charges that they exported sensitive technology to Iran that was used in a drone attack in Jordan that killed three American troops early this year and injured dozens of other service members, the Justice Department said Monday. The criminal case in federal court in Massachusetts charges the men, identified as Mahdi Mohammad Sadeghi and Mohammad Abedininajafabadi, with export control violations. U.S. officials blamed the January attack on the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iran-backed militias that includes Kataib Hezbollah. Three Georgia soldiers — Sgt. William Jerome Rivers of Carrollton, Sgt. Breonna Moffett of Savannah and Sgt. Kennedy Sanders of Waycross — were killed in the Jan. 28 drone attack on a U.S. outpost in northeastern Jordan called Tower 22. In the attack, the one-way attack drone may have been mistaken for a U.S. drone that was expected to return back to the logistics base about the same time and was not shot down. Instead, it crashed into living quarters, killing the three soldiers and injuring more than 40. Tower 22 held about 350 U.S. military personnel at the time. It is strategically located between Jordan and Syria, only 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the Iraqi border, and in the months just after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel, and Israel’s blistering response in Gaza, Iranian-backed militias intensified their attacks on U.S. military locations in the region. Stock market today: Wall Street climbs as bitcoin bursts above $99,000Sir Keir Starmer was speaking at the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) conference in Estonia where he met leaders of other Baltic states. After signing an energy partnership with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store in Bergen, Sir Keir flew to Estonia where he spoke alongside Mr Store and their Estonian counterpart Kristen Michal. Asked what else could be done to support Ukraine, Sir Keir said: “There is an ever-increasing demand for more capability. That is understandable, and Ukraine needs all the capability that it can get, so I think all of us have put in more capability into Ukraine by way of equipment.” He added: “A lot of money has been raised, funding has been raised, but more is going to be needed.” The Prime Minister’s also discussed making the economic case at home for continued support for Ukraine. Sir Keir said: “Making the case on the significance of Ukraine, making the case, to double down, linking it back to each of our countries – what does it mean for us if Russia succeeds, is a really important question that we have to answer with our people to make it clear why it is that we are so supportive of Ukraine, why it is that we must stand with our allies on this, why it is we must make sure that Nato is put in the strongest position as well. “Now, this is a different world to the world of 10, 20 years ago, to recognise the world that we are living in, there’s a positive case as well to be made. “Defence spending doesn’t sort of sit in a silo over here with no effect on the rest of the economy, no effect on technology. “It has a huge effect on technologies, the cutting edge of technology and change which can then be used in other areas. “It binds countries together. The Prime Minister will again attend the JEF summit, joining leaders from the Nordics and Baltics to discuss support for Ukraine, the sustained threat posed by Russia and wider European security. Effective immediately, Jabril Peppers has been removed from the NFL's commissioner's exempt list and is now eligible to return to the facility, practice, and play. Peppers has been on the list since October 9th. He was placed there four days after being arrested on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of cocaine. He is scheduled to go to trial on January 22nd. The team released a statement a short time ago: "The league has removed Jabrill Peppers from the commissioner’s exempt list. After missing the past seven games, he will now return to the active roster. We understand that the league’s investigation into the matter will continue, as will the legal process. We will await the outcome of both before making any further comment." The safety has missed the last eight games, seven since being put on the list and one the day after his arrest by Braintree police. He had been on the Pats' injury report that week, and initially, the team used that as cover until the news came out. The league's complete statement read as follows: "The National Football League today (Monday) removed Jabrill Peppers of the New England Patriots from the Commissioner Exempt List. Peppers has missed seven games since being placed on the list on October 9. Peppers, who was not permitted to practice or attend games while on the list, is now eligible to participate in all team activities, including playing in games. In accordance with the Personal Conduct Policy, the league initiated a preliminary investigation into an incident from early October. That review will remain ongoing and is not affected by this change in Peppers’ roster status." Braintree police were called to a residential address at around 4:15 a.m. on October 5th after getting reports of an altercation between two people. The alleged female victim believed to be his girlfriend, told police Peppers repeatedly struck her and choked her six times. In a court appearance on November 22, Peppers' attorney, Marc Brofksy , argued that the crimes his client has been accused of "didn't happen." He then went on to say the plaintiff demanded $10.5 million from Peppers. Her lawyers said the player's side asked to meet about a possible settlement, and that number was never requested. Peppers inked a three-year extension this summer for $24 million. He joined the team as a free agent in the spring of 2022 and was voted a team captain before the regular season started.
