Sambhal News: Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday alleged that the recent violence in Sambhal was engineered by the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government to divert public attention from what he called rigging in the recently held by-polls. The former UP chief minister also expressed his frustration with the Sambhal administration's refusal to allow a high-level Samajwadi Party delegation to visit the area. "We want the urgent restoration of peace and complete normalcy in the region, but how can there be peace when there is no communication with the people living in the affected areas?" he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. The remark came hours after a high-level SP delegation was stopped from visiting Sambhal following the extension of a ban on the entry of outsiders and public representatives into the violence-hit city till December 10. Circle Officer Pankaj Singh said that SP workers, led by party district president Shivcharan, attempted to reach Sambhal but were detained after defying police orders. On November 19, a court-ordered survey of the mosque was carried out and days later on November 24, the team carried out another survey. Violence erupted when a large group of people gathered near the mosque and started shouting slogans as the survey team began its work. The ensuing violence claimed the lives of four people and left many others, including policemen, injured. SAMBHAL ROW: HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY (NOVEMBER 30) - "Uttar Pradesh government engineered the recent violence in Sambhal to distract the public from the truth about the rigging of the recent by-elections," Yadav claimed. In the recent by-elections held on nine seats across UP, the SP could win only two seats, while the remaining were won by the BJP and its ally RLD. - Attacking the ruling party, he further said, "The BJP has a vested interest in instigating communal disturbances to polarise the people and divert their attention from their abysmal record in governance." - Regarding the events leading up to the violence, Yadav said, "When the survey team visited the Sambhal mosque, the local community cooperated fully. There was no trouble. But despite this, the authorities decided to repeat the survey, and this time, they allowed a group of people to accompany the team who raised provocative slogans." - Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh announced on Saturday: "The divisional commissioner's standing order is being implemented in Sambhal. No delegation is permitted to visit. Once the situation normalises, everyone will be allowed." - Urging the Samajwadi Party to cooperate and postpone its delegation's visit to Sambhal, the official said, "They wouldn't want the situation in Sambhal to worsen. They should visit after some time. The investigation is underway, and we are gathering evidence. So far, 30 people have been arrested." - Mata Prasad Pandey, the Leader of Opposition in UP Assembly, claimed the Sambhal District Magistrate had personally requested him to refrain from visiting the area. "The Justice Commission and the media are visiting the area. Will there be unrest if we go? The government is stopping us deliberately to hide its actions," the SP leader told wire agency ANI. - Meanwhile, f ormer Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam alleged that Akhilesh Yadav had a role in the violence . "Akhilesh Yadav has a direct and indirect role in the violence. MPs and MLAs from his party incited the people. The police and administration's actions are aimed at restoring peace. By sympathising with the Muslim vote bank, Yadav is deceiving Muslims. Their visit to Sambhal is mere political tourism," he said. - UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak slammed the Samajwadi Party, saying, "They are going there (Sambhal) for political tourism, we will maintain law and order there in every situation." Mathbaria: Canal’s land grabbed for marketIt was a typical Friday night at The Midnight Owl, a popular bar in the heart of the city. Brock Purdy participated in the start of Thursday's practice with the 49ers but the San Francisco starting quarterback was not on the field for the majority of the workout, casting doubt over his availability to play Sunday at Green Bay. Purdy is dealing with a right shoulder injury and the 49ers are also potentially without left tackle Trent Williams and Nick Bosa due to injuries. Bosa was listed as out of Thursday's practice with an oblique injury. Williams also didn't suit up Thursday. He played through an ankle injury last week after being listed as questionable. Purdy's typical Thursday post-practice media session was scrapped until Friday as the 49ers did not make any quarterback available. Kyle Allen would step in for Purdy as the starter if he can't play against the Packers. Run game coordinator Chris Foerster said the 49ers aren't where they want to be at 5-5 because they haven't won close games, not because of injuries. "Seven games left is like an eternity," Foerster said. "So much can happen. Do the math. What was our record last year? It was 12-5. I was on a 13-win team that was nowhere near as good as the team last year." With or without Purdy, Foerster said the challenge for the 49ers is not to give up the ball to a defense that has 19 takeaways. The 49ers have 13 giveaways this season. --Field Level MediaINDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jarvis Walker's 20 points helped IU Indianapolis defeat Trinity Christian 106-49 on Saturday. Among the three individuals identified by the media, one player allegedly has connections to the prestigious English club Manchester United. This revelation has added an element of intrigue and excitement to the ongoing naturalization process, as the potential involvement of a player associated with such a renowned football institution has captured the attention of fans and pundits alike.Whether taking adventurous trips to the depths of the Amazon or exploring sustainable production methods, chasing waves across the globe or making music with the locals on his path, his passion for discovery, surf, music and storytelling motivates him to always push further. Now, this multi-hyphenate sets his sights on a new horizon: producing fascinating nature-related content on his own channel. João comes from humble beginnings, he is the first born son of immigrant parents, who was brought up in Portugal at the turn of the millennia. “I remember a huge cluster of Brazilian families here, like mine. They were my parents ́ friends- my sister ́s and my adoptive family. We always had barbecues and went on vacations all together. But with the economic crisis, many of our people moved back to Brazil, and I remember a great loneliness from this network of people who were gone. Credits: Supplied Image; Author: Sirikit Harivongs; You don’t need everybody to leave, just five or six key players, and thirty people never see each other again. It was tough on my parents, and their relationship fell apart. I guess we went from being a community to suddenly being just us, and just us wasn’t going well. I felt sadness and worried for my family. But I had no time to think about myself, because by age ten, I was doing gymnastics, acrobatics, surfing and classical music. I had many things going on, so I was ok..” Challenges João ́s focus and drive helped him overcome not only his personal challenges but also the challenges of competitive sports and the social challenges of being a second-generation immigrant. “I was obsessed with all the things I did. As a young gymnast, I thought I would be a pro, even at 10! And then, with surfing, I wanted to be a pro surfer. The challenge in the surfing world was that some kids were sometimes a bit mean, as all the kids are, and they made sure I knew I was Brazilian. I remember I stopped calling my parents while I was around other kids because then I used to change my accent. When you ́re a teenager, you want to fit in. I was ashamed of being Brazilian, and I hated it. I wish no one has to go through that. In a way, I thought that surfing competitively was the way to prove myself. I developed this deep drive not to fail, to show I’m gonna do this! And a little part of me today takes some pride in saying I’m still here , you know, I’m still doing my thing, I’m still around, I’m proud of being who I am, I beat that challenge.” Credits: Supplied Image; Author: @victordutraphotos; As a competitive surfer, João quickly stood out as champion. Amongst his many achievements, he was the national champion of Portugal in three age divisions: under 14,16 and 18. Inevitably, his many talents and interests summoned new prospects. “Sports were natural to me, but music was too. I studied the double bass and lyrical singing at the Lisbon Conservatory. In the surfing world, I was this little alien, the kid who won competitions but also wrote, sang opera and played a weird instrument- people would ask me: kid, why is your violin so big? Then, when I was about 18, Bondi, the coffee brand that sponsored the first surf championship in Portugal, was looking for a presenter for their campaign- a surfer who had more than just surfing. And I was this person. So I had this revelation- maybe I can throw everything that I like doing into this side of surfing and keep doing it. Because that’s my challenge- to keep doing all my passions, and if anything, taking on more passions.” Credits: Supplied Image; Author: @whiteflagproductions; João stormed his new career path as a presenter with the same focus and determination he had for all his passions. Next, he presented Riding Portugal for TAP Airlines. It was an introduction to Portugal through surf-travel, exploring history and culture along the way. Other brands and institutions soon followed, partnering up with what has now become João Kopke, the presenter and producer. “I was a 20-year-old kid who went to 50 meetings and discovered what you have to do to sell your idea, and I still have this boogeyman under my laptop, telling me that if I don’t send this email now, I ́ll end up working in an office. Fortunately, I learned how to help brands and institutions communicate their message without compromising my play. I mean my play, as in my trips, surfing and music, getting to know people, and getting to know topics I want to explore. Credits: Supplied Image; Author: Joao Amado; Wanderlust João ́s media persona resonates with his wonderer ́s wanderlust soul. A conversation with him lights up the imagination with tales of travel, like the one he took through the Amazon forest in a little canoe: “You look to the horizon and only see green, and the huge clouds, and the big river, where life is made there. Huts scattered along the waterways.” Or of the fantastic life of a polymath, studying for his bachelor’s degree exams while chasing surf on the southern coast of Nicaragua. “It was tricky; we surfed from 5 to 11 am, then it got too hot, so, between 11-4 pm, I was studying for my exams, and then surfing again till dark, waking up at 4 am the next day and do it back again.” Credits: Supplied Image; Author: @Mauromotty; But now, João has his sights set on the next level, “I want to develop personal channels because I don’t want to be dependent on outside sources for people to watch my content.” Of the many subjects João plans to explore, one could find making wax from beehives, surfboards manufactured from agave plants, venomous fish in the Portuguese waters, biologists creating marine protected areas, or the fact that all the algae on the Portuguese coast are edible, nutritional and sustainable. “I think these are cool topics. And this is my play, you know, this is exactly what I want to do and produce. I wanna keep doing what I’m doing because I love what I’m doing. Actually, if somebody asks me now- if nothing changes forever, are you happy? I would say yes!” João ́s content is available on his channel on the link: João Kopke - João Kopke With a passion for surfing and writing, Yariv Kav moved to Portugal ́s wave capital from his native Israel. He was awarded a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manchester back when Oasis was still cool, and a diploma with distinction from the London School of Journalism in Feature and Freelance Writing. Loves travel, languages and human stories.

The closures will remain in effect until the GCC heads of state leave the country. The roads and traffic diversions are as follows: King Faisal Road: Traffic will be closed in both directions. For those heading from Kuwait City towards the airport, traffic will be redirected to the Sixth Ring Road towards Jahra. Sixth Ring Road: The road will be closed for traffic traveling from Jahra towards Messila. Vehicles will be diverted to King Faisal Road towards Kuwait City. Traffic heading from Messila towards Jahra will also be closed up to King Faisal Road. King Fahad Road: The road will be closed for traffic coming from Ahmadi, with diversions towards Sixth Ring Road leading to Messila. Traffic coming from Kuwait City towards Ahmadi will be closed until the Fifth Ring Road, with diversions to Jahra and Salmiya. Sabhan Road: Both directions of Sabhan Road will be closed to traffic for the duration of the summit. Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and follow traffic instructions as the closures are in place for the safety and security of the summit’s high-level participants. The Ministry of Interior has emphasized that the roads will be reopened once the heads of state depart. The summit, which is being hosted by Kuwait, will bring together leaders from the six GCC member states to discuss key political, economic, and security issues facing the region. People departing from Kuwait International Airport on Sunday, starting at 10:30 am, should use Road 60 (Ghazali Road) during the road closure times in conjunction with the 45th Gulf Summit. Drivers can use Ghazali Road (Road 60) to reach Dajeej, then drive on the road leading to the Kuwait Airways Building T4 to access the Kuwait International Airport Building and the Jazeera Airways Building T3. — KUNAReal estate magnates, construction industry tycoons and artificial intelligence coaches have said that AI is a game changer, which requires a sustainable policy with rules and regulations while addressing poor governance in financial institutions. They stated this during the PropTech Convention 2024 on the second day of the three-day 18th Build Asia International Conference and Exhibition at the Expo Centre Karachi. Commenting on Pakistanis investing in Dubai's real estate sector but not in their home country, leading property tycoon and Olympic Group Chief Operating Officer Abdul Kareem Adhia said there is a risk of scams in real estate business but scammers hardly comprise 5-10%. He stressed that government departments like the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) must ask builders and developers to work as per rules and regulations, and if they do not control them and go into hibernation after taking kickbacks, the public institutions will lose their credibility and reputation. The builders who are working honestly are hurt. The black sheep in the government must be removed immediately in the larger interest of growth in this sector. He said government officials, who are working in key institutions like the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and others, are eager to fill their pockets while harassing businessmen. Businessmen are struggling to save their hard-earned money from corrupt officials and if they decide to go abroad, the industry will collapse, triggering unemployment and other economic and social ills. Instead of demolishing Nasla Tower, a residential plaza in Karachi, the officials of government departments who gave no-objection certificates (NOCs) to the builder must have been punished. There are 40% slum areas in Karachi, but not a single shanty town is knocked down. The demolition of Nasla Tower has hurt builders, end-consumers and shattered investor confidence. After this nightmare, there is a big question mark over the 70% foreign investment which mostly goes to the realty sector. Units of various projects are not being sold these days because of rising inflation. At present, there is a shortfall of 1.5 million houses. He pointed out that Pakistan needs foreign investment and if capital comes from expatriate Pakistanis and the builders relocating abroad, it will give a boost to this sector. Speaking about empowering the next generation, College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS) Dean and AI Consultant Brig (Retd) Professor Dr Muhammad Abbas said AI is a game changer for real estate and construction sectors, offering unprecedented opportunities for efficiency, innovation and sustainability. The academia plays a crucial role in preparing future leaders with AI skills and knowledge needed to thrive in this evolving landscape. By integrating AI into curricula, providing hands-on experience, fostering industry collaboration and supporting research, academic institutions can empower the next generation to shape the future. Talking about real estate investment and finance, he said risk assessment tools enable informed decision-making, for example, PropTech platforms help analyse market trends. When it comes to the role of academia, interdisciplinary expertise combines AI with industry knowledge. The academia must lead in innovation and ethical AI use. Integrating AI into curricula encompasses tailored programmes, combining AI with architecture and urban planning. Fostering collaborative learning involves forming partnerships with industry leaders to provide real world experience through student internships, while also utilising AI tools to simulate construction scenarios. Encouraging innovation and research calls for the establishment of AI research hubs focused on urban and sustainable design. Emphasising ethics in AI involves addressing concerns such as data privacy, algorithmic bias and job displacement. For instance, conducting ethical analysis of facial recognition technology used in buildings is essential to ensure responsible AI development and application. Speaking about AI tools for construction and property management, Dr Abbas said Allytics offers an AI-powered platform that uses CCTV and existing video footage to analyse site conditions and monitor site safety and productivity. Everguard.ai focuses on using AI and variables to enhance workers safety. Its platform integrates computer vision and real-time data analytics to monitor workers' movement and activity, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and detecting potential hazards before they lead to accidents. Landtrack.pk founder Atif Arafin said the PropTech convention aimed to bring all stakeholders of the real estate sector under one roof and talk about innovative technologies, deliberating how this industry is working in the outside world, how to ensure transparency, how to go for sustainable construction materials and the like. Strengthening Counter-Cyclical Adjustment Beyond the Norm: Monetary Policy Once Again Advocates "Moderate Easing"! Detailed Explanation of Economic Work for the Next Year - More Proactive and Effective Macroeconomic PoliciesBy Conor Ryan Paul Pierce has continued to be one of the top supporters of the Boston Celtics, even after he announced his retirement from basketball in 2017. The Celtics legend and Basketball Hall of Famer has regularly vouched for Boston during its latest ascension as a title contender, forming close ties with Jayson Tatum and labeling the current star’s Olympic benching as “Celtic hate” over the summer. Pierce even joined members of Boston’s 2008 title squad on a duck boat during the Celtics’ 2024 championship parade in June. But the longtime Celtics forward also isn’t going to anoint the 2023-24 Celtics — or this current iteration viewed as championship favorites — as the top team to beat in Boston’s illustrious history. During an appearance on the “Dan Le Batard Show” on Monday, Pierce vouched for the 2008 Celtics when Le Batard said that “this [Boston] team is better than yours.” “I don’t know. We don’t know,” Pierce responded. “It’s damn close. I ain’t gonna lie. This team is really good. Really good. But I will tell you this. I don’t know — we knew how to break teams mentally. So what we lacked in skill versus them — we had with will.” "This team is really good, but I will tell you this, our team we knew how to break teams mentally." @paulpierce34 on how his Boston Celtics teams would fare against today's Boston Celtics. WATCH: https://t.co/0mH91SieKi pic.twitter.com/lNbiYVBqqO The Celtics under Joe Mazzulla have become one of the most dominant teams in recent NBA history. The 2023-24 C’s set league records with 1.22 points per possession and a 122.2 offensive rating. During regular-season play, Boston outscred teams by an average of 11.34 points per game during regular-season play — the fifth-highest total in NBA history. Last year’s title squad — which went 64-18 — also ranked third in the NBA in defensive rating (111.6) before posting a sterling 16-3 record during the postseason. But the 2008 Celtics were no joke, either. Bolstered by the offseason arrivals of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, the 2007-08 Celtics won 66 games (a 42-win improvement from the previous year). The Celtics’ new “Big 3” in Pierce, Garnett, and Allen gave Boston several stars capable of taking over a game, while a deep supporting cast featuring talents like Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, and James Posey made Boston a stacked squad. But the 2008 Celtics’ bread and butter rested in their suffocating defense — ranking first in the NBA with a 98.9 defensive rating. With Garnett anchoring a trash-talking, unrelenting Celtics squad, it would have made for a premier matchup had both of these title teams met on the same parquet floor. “We gonna turn it into a bar fight,” Pierce said of the 2008 Celtics’ approach. “You know what I’m saying? This ain’t gonna be no finesse, dancing around the ring. This is gonna be body blow, body blow.” Of course, having a coach like Mazzulla — who endorses fighting on the court and is no stranger to the mental side of basketball — could negate some of the 2008 Celtics’ hard-nosed approach on the court. Still, Pierce believes both he and the rest of the ‘08 Celtics would have no issue getting under the skin of this current crew. “When you start getting guys that foul trouble in the first quarter and then they foul — I mean, ... Listen, I’ve been known to break a few wills. Sent some of them from Cleveland to Miami,” Pierce said, clearly referring to LeBron James. - UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak slammed the Samajwadi Party, saying, "They are going there (Sambhal) for political tourism, we will maintain law and order there in every situation." Brock Purdy participated in the start of Thursday's practice with the 49ers but the San Francisco starting quarterback was not on the field for the majority of the workout, casting doubt over his availability to play Sunday at Green Bay.
