offline casino slots The Buffalo Bills will face severe winter weather when they host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night, with up to 3 feet of snow expected to hit the Buffalo area this weekend. They'll have a key reinforcement for their on-field efforts, however, with star linebacker Matt Milano activated from injured reserve Saturday. Milano's activation comes two weeks after the Pro Bowler was designated to return, and all but confirms Buffalo's plan to play the veteran against the 49ers. Milano was a full participant at Bills practice this week, taking noticeable strides in his recovery from a torn biceps suffered in August. The 30-year-old Milano has been one of the NFL's most productive linebackers when healthy, but he also missed extensive time in 2023, when a leg fracture cost him all but five games. Third-year veteran Terrel Bernard has served as Buffalo's top linebacker in his absence. In 2022, his last healthy season, Milano logged a career-high 72 solo tackles, 11 pass breakups and three interceptions, helping the Bills advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. An All-Pro selection that year, he also posted a career-high 15 tackles for loss the season prior.

Chandigarh MC providing govt vehicles to ineligible officials: AuditThe House of Representatives on Wednesday, approved for second reading, a bill to establish the National Commission for Technology Transfer, Acquisition and Promotion. The commission when established will monitor the inflow of foreign products and technology into the country. The sponsor of the bill from Akwa Ibom State, Clement Jimbo, said the proposed legislation “seeks to leverage the huge and active Nigerian population to create jobs for youths, process raw materials into finished goods/products, increase the Gross Domestic Product, and transfer technology to Nigeria.” Leading the debate on the bill’s general principles, the PDP lawmaker said the overriding principle behind the introduction of the proposed legislation is to ensure regular value addition to the country’s solid mineral exploration. He also said it was triggered by the need to create sustainable jobs for the nation’s army of unemployed youths. “The bill seeks to increase our GDP and revenue base through foreign exchange. Related News Poor performance: FG issues 90-day ultimatum to mining management committee Unemployment rate dropped to 4.3% in Q2 - NBS Maximising your naira amid high inflation Jimbo, who represents Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State, pointed out that the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says over 200 million cell phones, over 500,000 solar systems, over 12 million cars, and millions of cameras, microphones, laptops, and remote controls are currently in use in Nigeria. “These products have one thing in common which is batteries,” he added, stressing that “The major ingredient in the production of battery is a solid mineral lithium.” He pointed out that Deutsche Welle DW, a German foreign broadcasting company, says lithium has been discovered in large quantities in Nigeria, particularly in Abuja, Nasarawa, Kogi, Ekiti, Kwara, and Cross River. “The Minister of Solid Mineral, Mr Dele Alake said we will do everything possible to discourage the carting away of our solid minerals without value addition. This statement is in sync with the intendment of this bill, Mr Speaker,” he said. Addressing reporters after the plenary session, the lawmaker urged his colleagues to support the bill to quicken its passage.

An accidental chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) on Sunday celebrated the centenary year of another accidental chief minister S Janaki, who took the post in 1987 following the death of her husband and AIADMK’s founder MGR’s (MG Ramachandran’s) death, to become Tamil Nadu’s first woman chief minister but could hold on to the position only for 24 days. Janaki lost out on support to J Jayalalithaa who began to head the AIADMK from 1989. Following Jayalalithaa’s death in office in 2016, EPS who was nowhere close to the race was handpicked to become chief minister and who is now the leader of opposition and AIADMK’s general secretary on Sunday planned a mega event in Chennai. It comes at a time when the AIADMK is at its lowest with the party losing every election since Jayalaalithaa’s death. And while it has splintered into factions with EPS refusing to take back the trio he expelled – VK Sasikala who made him the chief minister, her nephew TTV Dhinakaran and O Panneerselvam with whom he jointly led the AIADMK and the state for five years until 2022. EPS said: “It is normal for a change in government but AIADMK will emerge victorious in the 2026 assembly elections. We are a family party of cadres. We are not like the DMK which is a party of (late) M Karunanidhi’s family.” “Only those in his family can become leaders of the party and govern the state. But, in AIADMK anyone who works hard and is loyal can become the general secretary of the party and even become chief minister,” he said, while referring to the trio he expelled for going against the party’s principles and targeting the elevation of Karunanidhi’s grandson and chief minister MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi as deputy chief minister in September. EPS went on to further compare the AIADMK and the ruling DMK. “We have ruled Tamil Nadu much longer than the DMK. We have ruled for 31 years,” EPS said. “And we gave good governance. Tamil Nadu is in the forefront now because of the schemes laid out by the AIADMK.” At the event, there was an AI generated video of MGR addressing the cadre and praising EPS for following the footsteps of him and Jayalalithaa. Actor Rajinikanth, who couldn’t attend the event, released a video message praising Janaki for handing over the party to Jayalalithaa which led to the factions of the two women to unite under the AIADMK after MGR’s death. Though Rajinikanth is a non-starter in politics, his comments back in the 90s swayed Tamil Nadu’s vote bank. Jayalalithaa lost the 1996 assembly election which has historically been linked to Rajinikanth saying that “even God can’t save Tamil Nadu” if she is voted back to power. “The ‘Two Leaves’ symbol is the Brahmastra of the AIADMK, and madam Janaki played a key role in its retrieval after it was frozen,” said Rajinikanth after the iconic symbol was frozen following MGR’s death and the split. “It was a great sacrifice, and I congratulate the AIADMK for celebrating her centenary.” Janaki had lost the vote of confidence in the assembly before renouncing the reins of the AIADMK. Meanwhile, deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin criticised EPS of leading the AIADMK in a poor way that nobody wants to join their alliance. After the EPS led AIADMK broke of its alliance with the BJP last September, most of the allies except the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) stayed with the national party. “AIADMK’s treasurer Dindigul Srinivasan is himself saying at a party meeting that certain parties were demanding ₹ 100 crore to join their alliance,” Udhayanidhi said. “This shows the state of the AIADMK alliance. But, our DMK-led secular progressive alliance is united and has proven to be a winning coalition.” Responding to EPS who questioned his elevation, sports minister Udhayanidhi said that he was not like EPS who fell on Sasikala’s feet to get the post to head the AIADMK and become chief minister. “My rise from youth wing secretary to MLA, minister, and now deputy chief minister is built on hard work and the people’s trust,” Udhayanidhi said.

OTTAWA — NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says his party is ready to introduce motions as early as today that would help the Liberals pass legislation to create their promised GST holiday but only if they separate it from their parallel promise to send $250 cheques to working Canadians. Singh said his party would open the procedural "gates" including motions to extend the sitting hours of the House of Commons to debate and pass the legislation in time for it take effect as promised on Dec. 14. Last week, the Liberals brought forward a plan to pause the GST on items like premade grocery items, beer and wine, toys and other holiday staples. The pause would last for two months. Singh says the NDP supports this idea, but oppose the associated $250 working Canadians benefit that is supposed to be mailed in the spring to anyone who earned an income up to $150,000 last year. Singh wants the benefit expanded to include non-working seniors and people who rely on disability benefits who did not have a working income in 2023. The Liberals have put the GST and benefit cheque bill on notice in the House of Commons but have been unable to introduce it because of an ongoing filibuster by the Conservatives over an unrelated matter of privilege. A Conservative motion demanding the government turn over unredacted documents to the RCMP on a green technology fund has been debated since late September, preventing any bills or other motions from being introduced or debated. The Conservatives insist that debate will continue until the documents are given to the RCMP or the NDP join them and the Bloc Québécois to vote non confidence in the government. At least two parties would need to support a motion to end or pause that debate. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said last week that both the GST holiday and the $250 cheques are aimed at helping people struggling with the cost of living. The rebate as planned would be issued to an estimated 18 million Canadians in the spring and cost around $4.7 billion. The government has issued notice of the legislation but hasn't introduced it in the House yet. It also has put on notice a motion calling for debate on the bill, when it is introduced, to be limited to one 10-minute speech per party, and undergo just one vote for all the required stages of debate. Some Liberal MPs said Wednesday they think their government should consider expanding the eligibility for the benefit cheques. After the Liberal caucus meeting Seniors Minister Steven MacKinnon said the government has created a number of benefits to help low-income seniors. But Milton MP Adam van Koeverden said he wants to see more ambition in helping seniors and Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Marcus Powlowski said if the government can afford to include seniors in the payments it absolutely should. The Bloc Québécois is also calling on the government to offer the rebate to seniors who are fully retired. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called the measure a "tiny, two month tax trick" and says if Trudeau cared about affordability he'd get rid of the carbon tax.
